I ordered some laminate flooring. Contacted the store on a Tue, was told only some of the order was in, the rest should be in by Thur. Didn't happen. Was told to call Friday morning when they could contact the vendor to track down the shipment. It took a while, but Janie (? - I only talked to her on the phone, I think this is her name) spent time on it and found out UPS had lost the boxes. I was frustrated, as that affected our scheduling for getting the floor put in, but her effort to stay with it redeemed Home Depot a little bit.
I went and picked up the 5 boxes of flooring that had come in. When I went to begin installing it, I discovered that only one box was ok, the other four all had sustained some damage (likely in shipping). I was VERY frustrated.
I later went back to the store with the damaged flooring and was helped by Brandy to order replacements. She was very helpful and competent in taking care of the situation. About 30 minutes after I left the store she called and informed me that another customer had previously returned the exact flooring and they had it for sale at a discount price. I was able to return to the store, pick up enough boxes to fulfill my original order and received a discount.
This is the kind of stuff that will make me come back to Home Depot again. I went from being extremely frustrated, wishing I hadn't chosen to get the flooring from Home Depot, and vowing to not order anything from there again, to being satisfied and happy that the employees would work hard to make it right (and be kind and have good attitudes while they did it).
